Surgery is over!

Well, Phil came through surgery very well, was alert and oriented x3...although as the Versed is wearing off, he has asked twice of the surgery was over :-)...He was fine for a little bit, and said he did not need any pain meds, but changed his mind very shortly! He was really fighting the pain as he came to more and more, and while that was really hard to deal with as his mom, it was good to see a little fight in him! however, a little morphine goes a long way, and he is resting comfortably at the moment.
They have elected to keep him in the ICU for the duration of his stay, and we are still in the hour-at-a-time mode of operation. There are no cell phones allowed in the ICU, as the RF can mess with some of the equipment, so I will have the computer, and a few phone calls from the lounge. Will keep you posted on how it goes. In the meantime, thank you for your support!
